How Can Global Britain lead on Human Rights

The panel will discuss how Britain can play a crucial role in strengthening human rights and international law after Brexit


Britain’s EU exit comes at a time when the rules-based international order which enabled its global influence is threatened more than since its post-war birth. Divisive nationalism, ‘disinformation’, hate speech, and the growing power of serial human rights abusers (eg Russia and China) have major implications for the world. There is hope: worldwide, people are working to secure fundamental rights and freedoms. How can Britain pursue its role as a global leader on human rights and development?
